Cardi B called out “dumb” speculations about her complexion while pregnant with her and estranged husband Offset’s third child together.
The “Bodak Yellow” singer clapped back at an X user Wednesday after they reposted a recent photo of the rapper and questioned if she has “been bleaching her skin.”
“Bleaching while pregnant? Why must yall be so dumb?” Cardi replied. The “WAP” rapper revealed the reason her skin tone looks a little different is because she has anemia — an iron deficiency resulting in a low number of red blood cells. Mild anemia during pregnancy is common, according to Mayo Clinic.
“I’m pregnant I’m slightly anemic, this baby suckin all the energy off my body to the point I’m pale, eyes sunken, veins green ASF, can’t tan under the sun cause I get hot super fast and dizzy,” Cardi explained.
“PLEAE STOP THINKIN WITH YOUR A—HOLE!” she concluded.
This isn’t the first time Cardi has talked about having pregnancy complications.
Earlier this month, the expectant mother revealed she had a “freak accident” and needed to be hospitalized. Although she didn’t reveal exactly what happened, she told fans it left her “paralyzed” and could have caused a miscarriage.
“And that little thing almost cost me my little one to come, but it didn’t,” she said. While hospitalized, Cardi said doctors gave her morphine but once she got home the numbing effects started to wear off.
“Today I woke up sober, honey. I’m dying,” she said. “Like, I’m dying. I swear to God. If I don’t feel good in four hours, I’m going to the hospital, and I don’t give a f–k.”
The rapper announced she was expecting her third child on Aug. 1 — just one day after she filed for divorce from the Migos member.
At the time, insiders told us the couple — who already share daughter Kulture, 6, and son Wave, 2 — had simply “grown apart” and their split wasn’t entirely based on the latest rumors Offset cheated.
“It’s not something that happened overnight … They’ve both been on the same page. There wasn’t [pushback]. They’ve grown apart and that feeling has gotten stronger over time. It’s become unavoidable,” the source said.
The insider noted that Cardi’s main priority is “obtaining primary custody” of their kids. However, she will not be seeking any child support from the “Ric Flair Drip” rapper. The soon-to-be exes wed in September 2017.
