CBS analyst Peter Schmeichel said he’s “very, very proud” but gutted for his son Kasper, who turned in a superb performance with nine saves in goal.
The 38-year-old helped keep Celtic in the match until the final kick.
“It is a cruel game sometimes,” Kasper Schmeichel said. “I think we did everything that we possibly could and lady luck was against us in the last kick of the game. I think coming away to Bayern, and obviously we go out, but we’re disappointed with a draw — I think that says a lot about where this team is going.
“Very proud of the boys. I thought we defended really well. I thought everything that we tried to accomplish to win the game, we did, but at the end, luck was against us.”
