Backstage photo of Dwayne Johnson with his cousin Roman Reigns following his WrestleMania loss will make WWE fans emotional.

At WrestleMania 40, WWE fans witnessed the end of an era as Cody Rhodes dethroned the seemingly invincible and undisputed Roman Reigns to become the new WWE Universal Champion. In the match, Rhodes countered Reigns’ signature spear with a lightning-fast roll-up, catching the champion off guard and securing the victory.

Reigns’ reign, which had dominated the WWE world for 1316 days to be precise came to an end as Rhodes celebrated his first-ever Universal Championship win, bringing forth a new era in the WWE. Thus, a behind-the-scenes picture of The Rock hugging his cousin Roman Reigns immediately after his title loss had the internet all emotional.

The Rock and Roman Reigns Share a Heartwarming Moment After Reign’s Title Loss
Roman Reigns and The Rock, both hailing from the legendary Anoa’i wrestling family, have brought fire to the WWE with their comradery.

As cousins with a shared heritage in the Anoa’i wrestling dynasty, their on-screen collaboration has been electrifying. Whether they’re teaming up or facing off, their connection brings an extra layer of excitement to the ring.

Behind the scenes, their real-life family ties only add to the electrifying chemistry they share on-screen, making their partnership one for the ages in WWE lore.

Therefore, like millions of other fans, The Rock was also heartbroken after Reigns lost his title to Cody Rhodes. This led to a heartwarming behind-the-scenes picture shared by WWE that not only portrayed the belief that no matter how ruthless The Rock and Roman Reigns may seem on stage, behind the scenes, they are both gentle giants.

Reflecting on his loss, the star wrote, “Yesterday I mourned. Today is Day 1.” on X. With multiple championship reigns and memorable matches, Reigns is undoubtedly one of the greatest the WWE has ever seen.

The Rock is the Number One Fan of Roman Reigns!
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, on a separate occasion, went on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to talk about how much Roman Reigns has influenced his time in WWE and the wrestling world overall. He wanted to make it clear just how important Reigns has been. He revealed,

“Now that I’m back, and in the grind of it all, as he [Roman Reigns] has been, for years now, carrying the company, things like that [record-breaking RAW gate], you try to stay as present as possible because it moves, and the very next night, you’re at someplace else in a different city. But we had to take a moment last Monday, just to recognize how cool it is that we’re in this position. We both came from wrestling in flea markets and used car dealerships, to making $40 a match to making a little bit more than that. This guy is the champion and times are good.”
Johnson shared how Reigns’ impact has been huge, not just for him personally, but for the entire WWE community. Roman Reigns has indeed carved out a powerful legacy in WWE.

From his early days as part of The Shield to his transformation into the Tribal Chief, the WWE star has left an incredible mark on the wrestling world. With multiple championship reigns and headline-worthy matches, he’s proven himself as one of the company’s top talents.

But beyond his in-ring achievements, Reigns’ impact extends to him being one of the best performers putting in efforts to build characters and storylines. At the end of the day, his legacy isn’t just about wins and losses, it’s about the way he’s changed the game and inspired a new generation of superstars.
