Arsenal are set to make a £21.5m offer to Internacional for 16-year-old Gabriel Carvalho, according to a report.

Internacional TimeLine report that Arsenal are set to make a €25m (£21.5m) offer to Internacional for the signing of Gabriel Carvalho this week.

The attacking midfielder has a contract with his current club lasting until the end of 2028, as Brazilian football operates on a calendar-year basis.
The same source reports that Internacional hold 100% of Carvalho’s rights, which isn’t always the case with South American players. So that’s one potential transfer complication avoided.

On the other side of things, Carvalho is just 16 years old, and he wouldn’t be able to officially join Arsenal until his 18th birthday on August 17th, 2025.
If the rumours of a bid are true, Arsenal are presumably planning to agree a deal now for a transfer next summer.
That might not be a bad thing, as it would give Carvalho another season with his current club in the meantime. The youngster has only made five senior appearances for Internacional, though he’s made the starting lineup for their last two games.
