A once altogether highly thought of member of the academy ranks at Premier League giants Arsenal in on the verge of a cut-price move to Spain.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Charlie Patino as the player in question.
Midfielder Patino has for his part been on the books at Arsenal for the last nine years.
At one point in his development, the England youth international was widely considered to be a future first-team star in the making, with his technical attributes of the highest standard.
Safe to say, however, that things have since not quite worked out as planned.
After spending the last two seasons on loan stints with Blackpool and Swansea City respectively, Patino is now set to bring a permanent close to the Arsenal chapter of his fledgling career.
As per a report from Fabrizio Romano:
‘Charlie Patino to Depor La Coruna deal being sealed right now with Arsenal receiving £1m fixed fee.’
The brass at The Emirates, eager not to lose complete control of Patino’s future, are understood to have included a buyback clause in the agreement.
