Leandro Trossard has been in the headlines for the last 24 hours after Arsenal’s draw away to Manchester City.
The 29-year-old was dismissed for a second yellow card in the 53rd minute of the first half, with the Gunners going on to concede a late second-half equaliser.
But before the game, one report on Trossard from Belgian outlet Nieuwsblad went somewhat under the radar.

According to Nieuwsblad, Arsenal have not yet opened negotiations over a new contract for Trossard, but they do intend to make him a fresh offer.
The outlet highlights that Trossard will enter the final year of his contract at the end of this season. They suggest that after the Gunners rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia, the club owe their player a pay-rise.
Other reports suggest that Arsenal immediately turned down the ~£25m summer bid from Al-Ittihad, making it clear the player wasn’t for sale at any price.

In other news, Nieuwsblad suggest Trossard is likely to be back in Domenico Tedesco’s Belgium squad in October, after missing out on the September international break.
Tedesco reportedly explained to Trossard that he just wanted to try out some other players in September. But he added that the forward would – in principle – return to the squad for a couple of big-name clashes in October.
Belgium face Italy on October 10th, then France on October 14th.
