Should Aaron Ramsdale leave Arsenal this summer, The Athletic reports that the team could aim a movement for Espanyol custodian Joan Garcia.
Looking to end their more than 20-year drought for a Premier League championship, the Gunners want to rebuild their squad once more.
Although Mikel Arteta’s side is yet to sign, if Ramsdale leaves they are apparently after a left defender, midfielder, striker and goalkeeper.
Arsenal has Joan Garcia on their target.
Several players are set to depart the Emirates with Arsenal open to bids for Emile Smith-Rowe and Reiss Nelson.
Having lost his spot in the side to David Raya last season, Ramsdale falls into that category; the Gunners are scheduled to permanently relocate the Spaniard to north London.
With just six of his games in the Premier League, the 26-year-old only made 11 appearances in all competitions last season; he may do with a move away from Arsenal to start his career.
Although the England international had been closely associated with a relocation to Newcastle, the Magpies have instead signed Greek international Odysseas Vlachodimos from Nottingham Forest.
Should Ramsdale depart, the Athletic have informed the Gunners of Espanyol’s Garcia as a backup.
Believed to have a €25 million release clause in his contract, the 23-year-old is now second choice to Fernando Pacheco at the Spanish club.
Garcia is scheduled to be part of the Spain team for the Olympics; he had eight clean sheets in 14 appearances for Espanyol last season as they secured promotion back to La Liga.
The Athletic say that Ramsdale is not happy with being a number two and that a departure is most likely if an offer comes near the £24m they paid Sheffield United back in 2021.
