According to Billboard , the 25-year-old singer has become the most followed woman on Instagram with 146,311,467 followers, surpassing another star, Selena Gomez (146,274,798).
In just the past four months, Grande has added more than 13 million followers, which has helped her surpass Gomez.
Their following exploded following the success of Sweetener in August 2018 and Thank U, Next in January 2019. With the Sweetener/Thank U, Next tour coming up in March, the gap between Ariana and Selena could widen even further.
Grande is also an active social media user, posting two posts and six “stories” (short clips of events that happened during the day) on Instagram in the past 24 hours, while Gomez has been less active, posting only one post in September 2018 and then not posting anything until January 14, 2019, when she wished her fans a happy new year. After that, Selena only posted four more times.
Billboard also noted that Thank U, Next is the first album by a female solo artist to spend more than a week at the top of the Billboard charts.
Back to Ariana, she has 61 million followers on Twitter and she just announced the Manchester Pride concert there. Manchester Pride will take place on August 25, with the participation of bands and artists such as Years & Years, Bananarama and Kim Petras.
Meanwhile, football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo with 155,894,992 followers is holding the position of having the most followers on Instagram.
