The chart topping star appears to have completely quit the microblogging site – leaving fans distraught on Christmas Eve as they realised they could no longer tweet at the star
Ariana Grande may have left fans fearing they had been too naughty rather than nice this year – as she abruptly deleted her Twitter account on Christmas Eve leaving followers unable to send her festive cheer.
The 28-year-old No Tears Left To Cry singer has been an avid user of Twitter since 2009 when she first joined – but it appears her account is no longer active.
Fans were startled to be confronted with a blank page when accessing the @arianagrande Twitter page on Christmas Eve – and were also left with the message: “This account doesn’t exist. Try searching for another.”
The bold move of deleting her account meant Ariana cut off contact with her 85.1 million followers – although her Instagram account, which has over 284 million followers, is still active.

Distressed fans took to Twitter to share their shock at the sudden disappearance of the chart topping star.
One wrote: “ariana went from telling us she loves us every day to deactivating… these r dark times.”
And another typed: “ariana deactivated. there’s no point of twitter anymore.”
While it is unclear exactly why the star decided to bail on her mini updates, some fans have speculated the singer quit Twitter to escape online abuse.
One wrote: “ariana deactivating isn’t surprising.. people including many of her OWN fans have been saying the vilest things against her without consequences, her mental health comes first so i hope she’ll be ok.”
The star has still been updating her Instagram account – with updates about her career on The Voice, her new Netflix film Don’t Look Up, and spotlighting her REM beauty collection.
Over the years, Ariana avoided controversy on Twitter – but was embroiled in an online spat with Kanye West back in 2018.
The star had waded into an argument between ‘Ye’ and Canadian rap star Drake to highlight her own music – inviting fans to distract themselves from an online argument between the two “grown men” and listen to one of her new songs instead.
However, this provoked a savage response from Kanye who blasted his younger music rival for using his argument to highlight her own works.
He raged in a tweet at the time: “All of this foolishness weighed on my mental health so @ArianaGrande you know I got love for you but until you’re ready to really make sure everyone’s ok don’t use me or this moment to promote a song.”
