Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon only wants to join Liverpool if he leaves Newcastle, according to The Telegraph.
Anthony Gordon was one of the bright spots in Newcastle’s play last season, playing prominently on the left wing for the Magpies. With his impressive performance, he was named in the 26-man list of England players attending Euro 2024.
Some sources say that Tottenham, Liverpool and Inter Milan are interested in Anthony Gordon, big teams are willing to pay a large sum to recruit the 23-year-old player. Newcastle may be forced to sell Gordon to recruit new contracts.
Anthony Gordon is of interest to Liverpool
According to The Telegraph, Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon only wants to join Liverpool if he leaves Newcastle. The Kop are said to be targeting the English player as both Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz could leave Anfield.
According to British media, last weekend, The Kop was close to owning the 23-year-old player when Newcastle was also ready to sell Gordon to make a profit before June 30 to avoid getting into trouble related to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Newcastle are said to have made a counter-offer for Jarrad Quansah, but Liverpool have rejected the offer. The Reds are prepared to pay £50m and add goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher to their offer for the north-east side.
Liverpool still have a chance to recruit Gordon this summer as the English star himself only wants to join the team he has supported since childhood.
