It’s Barbie’s world and we’re just living in it. Or, we should say, it’s Margot Robbie’s. Kicking off the start of an epic press tour for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie, which will be released on 21 July, Robbie already given us a number of outfits that would make Barbie herself proud. Naturally, we all expected to see lashing of fuchsia pink on this press tour wardrobe, but these outfits are taking it up a notch.
Arriving to the London premiere, Robbie stepped out in a pastel pink and white tulle custom gown designed by Vivienne Westwood, perfectly recreating one of the original Barbie looks – the latest instalment of stylist Andrew Mukamal’s genius press tour looks. Whilst we’ve already had a 1985’s ‘Day To Night’ Barbie outfit for the premiere in Seoul and taken a nostalgic trip to the ’90s with an ‘Earring Magic’ Barbie outfit from 1992, this time around we’ve gone back even further to 1960 with a re-creation of the ‘Enchanted Evening’ Barbie, even complete with the triple string of pearls – this might just be our favourite yet!
Even when she’s not strictly ‘on duty’, Margot Robbie has been taking the theme to the next level. To arrive at Sydney Airport, she gave us real ‘Barbie on holiday’ vibes, nailing the brief in a full vintage Chanel look from the spring/summer 1996 collection, originally worn by supermodel Claudia Schiffer. The whole ensemble, brought together by Mukamal, was even complete with matching pastel pink suitcases.
It hasn’t all been pink, pink and more pink, however. Robbie has also worn a black and white striped mini dress by Hervé Léger, based on the original Barbie doll first released in 1959, before stepping out in a Moschino strawberry print dress from the spring/summer 2019 collection.
Robbie’s first look was a bubblegum pink two-piece with a matching bag by Bottega Veneta, accessorised with heels by Manolo Blahnik. The whole ensemble paired perfectly with her Barbie-esque car – set the bar sky-high.
Robbie’s second ensemble was directly inspired by an original Barbie doll outfit from 2015. The look, a custom polka-dot mini-dress by Valentino, even included the white stilettos, a canary yellow shoulder bag and matching yellow pearl bracelet – a real dedication to the theme.

For the L.A premiere, Margot Robbie arrived wearing custom Schiaparelli, another genius re-creation from stylist Andrew Mukamal, this time of the 1960 ‘Solo In The Spotlight’ Barbie doll.
Arriving to the pink carpet premiere in Mexico, Robbie stepped out in yet another custom look, this time by Balmain – complete with chain belt, statement earrings and hot pink Manolo Blahnik stilettos – a perfect recreation of 1992’s ‘Earring Magic’ Barbie.
For the premiere in Seoul, Margot wore this highlighter pink, custom-made ensemble from Versace, accessorising with a glitter mobile phone purse by Judith Leiber. Both premiere looks were based on actual outfits worn by 1985’s ‘Day to Night’ Barbie.
Her second look – also custom-made Versace – was a spangled bodice and frou-frou skirt.
This five-piece look from Moschino – including a crop top, mini skirt, jacket, heart-shaped bag and bow – couldn’t be more Barbiecore.

Barbie aside, if there’s one wardrobe we’d like to own it’s Margot Robbie’s. From classic red-carpet gowns to crop tops and denim, Robbie knows how to bring the glamour. The actor’s go-to labels of late have hopped between Bottega Veneta, Schiaparelli and, of course, Chanel. The 2023 Met Gala, saw Robbie opt for a subtle yet chic black velvet gown – a switch up from all the pink of late.
So, before we get used to all the Barbie dresses – take a look back at some of Robbie’s best outfits of years gone by…
