Management agency announces strong action
On March 10, the Korean media was shocked by the news that Kim Sae Ron dated Kim Soo Hyun for 6 years, starting when the actress was 15 years old. YouTube channel HoverLab Inc. (also known as Garosero Institute) – a group of former reporters and lawyers specializing in Korean entertainment news – released a video and interview with a person claiming to be Kim Sae Ron’s aunt.
Gold Medalist Company – Kim Soo Hyun’s representative – quickly issued a statement denying all allegations. “The statements from HoverLab Inc. on the YouTube program about actress Kim Soo Hyun are completely false and baseless,” the official announcement said.
Gold Medalist has denied all allegations that the company and Kim Soo Hyun colluded with YouTuber Lee Jin Ho to harass the late actress. They also denied that Kim Soo Hyun dated Kim Sae Ron since she was 15 years old, accused the company of handling Kim Sae Ron’s drunk driving case superficially, or that the company’s management had a close relationship with YouTuber Lee Jin Ho.
“We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of actress Kim Sae Ron, who used to work at the company. However, HoverLab Inc.’s spreading of false information directly repeats the behavior that hurt Kim Sae Ron when she was alive. This not only damages our artist’s reputation, but also harms the deceased. The company will take strict action against this behavior,” Gold Medalist emphasized.

YouTube channel challenges lawsuit threat
In response to Kim Soo Hyun’s statement, the Garosero Institute YouTube channel was unfazed. In a post on the evening of March 10, they continued to challenge the actor.
“Kim Soo Hyun seems to not know who Kim Sae Eui of Garosero Institute is. Legal action? Previously, global boy band BTS also said they would ‘take legal action’ against Garosero Institute. What was the result? They all enlisted in the army,” the channel wrote.
They affirmed that the broadcast content was based on documents and direct interviews with Kim Sae Ron’s family, and asked: “Why not try to threaten her family legally?”.
Notably, Garosero Institute also revealed shocking information: “Maybe tomorrow, a complaint about having sex with a minor will be filed in court. You fell in love with an 8th grade girl? No way, you can’t have sex with a minor, right?”.
The channel also questioned why Kim Soo Hyun did not attend Kim Sae Ron’s funeral while Won Bin did.
Kim Soo Hyun is 12 years older than Kim Sae Ron. They have known each other since she was a child. Kim Sae Ron used to work for Gold Medalist – a company founded by Kim Soo Hyun. In March 2024, Kim Sae Ron posted intimate photos with Kim Soo Hyun, but the actor denied the relationship.
