The Iowa women’s basketball team defeated Wisconsin in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament on Wednesday. The Hawkeyes will face Michigan State in Thursday’s second round.
Iowa is the 11-seed in the tournament. Michigan State is the 6-seed and received a first-round bye.
Lucy Olsen scored 19 points to lead the Hawkeyes in their 81-54 victory over the 14-seed Badgers. Coach Jan Jensen was able to give her starters plenty of rest and her bench players saw lots of playing time.
