To quickly recap: Back in 2021, A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was accused of firing a handgun at his former friend A$AP Relli during an altercation. The rapper was charged with two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. If he had been found guilty, he could’ve faced up to 24 years in prison.

But on Feb. 18, Rocky was found not guilty of the felony assault charges at the Los Angeles Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

In a video circulating online, Rocky could be seen jumping over the stand to embrace his loved ones as soon as the verdict was announced.

“Thank y’all for saving my life. Thank y’all for making the right decision,” he said before later giving another speech during a post-conference.

“I gotta thank God first,” he said. “And I really want to thank the jury for making the right decision…I’m just so thankful. This is crazy right now. This whole experience has been crazy for the past four years, but I’m thankful, nonetheless. I’m thankful and blessed to be here as a free man talking to you all.”

Now, Rihanna — who shares two young kids with Rocky — has reacted to the verdict, too.

Rihanna and Rocky went public with their relationship in 2020. They are parents to RZA, who is 2, and Riot, 1.

“The Glory belongs to God and God alone,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “THANKFUL, HUMBLED BY HIS MERCY!”

Rihanna was also filmed bluntly shutting down a reporter who loudly questioned Rocky outside the courtroom. The reporter seemingly shouted, “A$AP, how does it feel to lose your childhood friend?” to which Rihanna replied, “How you think it feels?”
