WASHINGTON – A government-operated site that provides guidance on obtaining birth control, abortion pills, and emergency abortions appears to have been deactivated following the transition to the Trump administration, the Associated Press reported.

Launched under the Biden administration, reproductiverights.gov was a response to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

The Biden administration has emphasized that hospitals, regardless of state-level abortion restrictions, should offer emergency abortion services for conditions like ectopic pregnancies, placental abruptions, or incomplete miscarriages.

During President Donald Trump’s first term, he pushed for the overturning of Roe v. Wade, which returned the responsibility of abortion laws to the states.

While Trump has said he believes the six week abortion ban signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2023 went too far, in August, he publicly opposed Florida’s Amendment 4, which was voted down in the November election and would have significantly expanded abortion access in Florida.
