Does Notre Dame still have some gas in the tank?
The Irish are down but still fighting and now trail 31-15 following a great effort from Notre Dame wide receiver Jaden Greathouse. His first catch of the evening, Greathouse hauled in a slant pass from QB Riley Leonard and immediately shook off his defender. He broke another tackle during his 25-yard trek to the end zone.
Here’s a look at Notre Dame’s best offensive play of the game so far:
As you can see, Notre Dame went for 2 and converted, meaning this is now a 2-score game. The Irish would need a pair of stops and a pair of touchdowns with a pair of 2-point conversions to tie this one up.
But now comes the hard part: Slowing Will Howard, Quinshon Judkins and the Ohio State offense. Howard and Co. have spread the love around, making it extremely difficult for Notre Dame to get into any sort of rhythm. Not to mention, Notre Dame’s usually stout linebacker corps has played its worst game of the season thus far.
Things will have to change and change quickly if Notre Dame is to truly have a shot at a comeback. When play resumes it will be Ohio State ball with 3:30 remaining in the 3rd quarter.
