Tik-Tok, Cap Cut and Lemon-8 have officially been banned in the U.S.
The ban, which was set to come into place on Sunday, January 19, was enacted Saturday evening around 11:00 p.m.
When you try and open the app, you are met with a popup that states “A Law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, that means you can’t use TikTok for now.”
The notification goes on to say that they are working with President-elect Trump to try and reinstate the controversial app.
Earlier this week we asked local creators how this will affect them, and it’s clear that this ban will have an immediate impact on the lives of many people.
