Bill Belichick’s camp really wants fans to know they’re committed to North Carolina.
A fascinating rumor floated last week that stated Tom Brady tried to recruit Bill Belichick to the Las Vegas Raiders. The former New England Patriots head coach declined as he reportedly is committed to the Tar Heels.
However, after the Dallas Cowboys head coaching position opened up, speculation about a Belichick NFL return took off. A report detailing that the 72-year-old did not sign a full contract with Carolina only fueled the intrigue.
It also made Jordon Hudson’s recent Instagram post all the more fascinating.
“Pictured: two people who are overtly committed to @uncfootball,” Hudson wrote on Instagram on Thursday with a picture of her and Belichick.

Hudson also posted other UNC-themed images to further show her boyfriend’s commitment to the school. Belichick’s long-time confidant and Tar Heels general manager Michael Lombardi also shot down speculation of an NFL return and reiterated their commitment to the university.
Belichick reportedly has a $10 million buyout before June 1 if he left North Carolina — the term sheet the future Hall of Fame head coach signed added legal gray areas to that payment — but it would shrink to $1 million after the deadline.

Hudson and Lombardi aren’t likely enough to quell fans’ theories of how Belichick could back out of his college job. They’ll likely only be convinced until they see him on the sideline for UNC’s first game of the 2025 season.
