Selena Gomez has dished out the deets on an awkward mix-up with rap mogul P Diddy. Back in 2016, the former Disney darling recounted a bizarre moment involving her, Justin Bieber’s mentor, and a case of mistaken identity.
Amid Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ arrest, his relationship with Justin Bieber when the singer was just a teenager has come into question. During this time, Justin was dating Selena Gomez. Despite this, Diddy seemingly didn’t know who Selena was even though she was dating his “mentee.”
During the 2016 interview with GQ, she quipped: “[…] When P Diddy gave me his valet ticket once, do you know what I mean?” The interviewer, clearly puzzled, prompted her to elaborate, leading to a jaw-dropping clarification: “Because he thought I was the valet lady!”

The narrative took a surprising turn when the GQ journalist expressed disbelief with a simple: “What? ! ” undeterred, Gomez verified her curious anecdote and added: “Look, I see all of it. I don’t care, I actually laughed hysterically when it happened, but I get it. I know what all of it is.”

In a nostalgic twist, Gomez reminisced about her turbulent relationship with Justin Bieber, whom she dated intermittently from 2009 to 2018. Bieber had previously fostered a close-knit bond with P Diddy also known as Sean Combs and even collaborated with him on a track that dropped in September 2023, right before Diddy faced serious allegations.
Bieber has been left reeling in light of the recent unsettling reports about his former associate, insiders have told Daily Mail.
“Bieber is so disturbed by the Diddy news and is unwilling to process it or discuss it, so he has shut off. So many people who helped to make him who he is were very close to Diddy and it has completely thrown him,” they told the outlet
