Joshua vs Dubois LIVE! Boxing result, fight stream, latest updates and reaction after Wembley drama

Joshua vs Dubois LIVE!

Daniel Dubois is celebrating a momentous upset of Anthony Joshua in a colossal all-British heavyweight main event on Saturday night. ‘Dynamite’ produced an incredible performance in front of a record Wembley Stadium crowd of 96,000 people at the historic home of English football, flooring an out-of-sorts Joshua four times en route to an emphatic fifth-round knockout to stun the largest audience in the history of British boxing.

A career-best victory saw Dubois provide the successful first defence of the full IBF title he received after Oleksandr Usyk relinquished the belt earlier in the summer, having initially become interim champion after his defeat of Filip Hrgovic in June. Dubois will now seek to face the winner of the Usyk vs Tyson Fury rematch in Saudi Arabia in December, with serious questions raised again about Joshua’s future at the top of the sport – though promoter Eddie Hearn expects him to exercise a rematch clause.

Liam Gallagher performed before tonight’s main event ahead of the much-anticipated Oasis reunion next year, while an entertaining undercard was headlined by Hamzah Sheeraz blitzing Tyler Denny to win the European middleweight title. Joshua Buatsi outlasted Willy Hutchinson in a thriller, after Anthony Cacace beat a potentially retiring Josh Warrington, a bloodied Josh Kelly overcame late replacement opponent Ishmael Davis and Josh Padley stunned Mark Chamberlain in a huge upset to kick things off. Eddie Hearn reveals how Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury could still happen

Eddie Hearn believes that Anthony Joshua could still end up facing Tyson Fury in future despite his brutal defeat by Daniel Dubois.

The former two-time unified world heavyweight champion was emphatically denied a third reign at the top of boxing’s blue riband division on Saturday night, stunned in a major upset as he was knocked down four times en route to a devastating fifth-round knockout loss in front of a British record crowd of 96,000 at Wembley Stadium.

That comprehensive defeat – the fourth of his 32-fight professional career – brought a swift end to Joshua’s winning four-fight revival in the wake of his pair of losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022, with more questions now sure to be asked of his future in the sport.

However, Joshua, who turns 35 next month, quickly confirmed after the fight that he would return to the ring in future, with promoter Hearn expecting him to exercise a clause entitling him to a rematch against Dubois.

Daniel Dubois wants Oleksandr Usyk revenge

Daniel Dubois is targeting a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, but may first face a second fight against Anthony Joshua.

‘Dynamite’ Dubois produced the performance of his career to date on Saturday night with a vicious fifth-round knockout upset of Joshua in front of a British boxing record crowd of 96,000 at Wembley Stadium after knocking down the two-time unified world heavyweight champion four times in a ruthless and dominant display.

Such an emphatic victory saw the 27-year-old provide a successful first defence of the IBF title he inherited in full after undisputed champion Usyk’s decision to vacate earlier this summer as he prepares for a December 21 rematch with Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia rather than take on his mandatory challenger.

Anthony Joshua vows to fight on after Daniel Dubois upset

Anthony Joshua has no plans to retire from boxing after his shocking upset defeat by Daniel Dubois, with promoter Eddie Hearn revealing a rematch clause that he expects him to trigger.

Joshua had his eyes set on becoming a three-time world heavyweight champion in Saturday night’s massive all-British main event fought in front of a record British boxing crowd of 96,000 at Wembley Stadium.

However, he ended up being dominated and knocked down four times en route to a brutal fifth-round stoppage loss as Dubois provided a successful first defence of the IBF title he received in full after it was relinquished by undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk earlier this summer, having initially won the interim belt against Filip Hrgovic in Saudi Arabia.

Daniel Dubois wants Oleksandr Usyk rematch

Saturday 21 September 2024 23:01 , George Flood

Dubois is talking up a potential rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, if he beats Tyson Fury in their huge rematch in Riyadh in December.

They’ve already fought once before of course, Usyk winning via ninth-round knockout in Poland last summer in a fight dominated by a “low-blow” controversy that many felt potentially robbed Dubois of a major upset.

Eddie Hearn confirms Anthony Joshua rematch clause

Saturday 21 September 2024 22:56 , George Flood

Eddie Hearn reveals there is a rematch clause for Anthony Joshua and believes he will trigger it, but needs a rest first.

He gives Joshua a lot of credit for fighting so bravely after being rocked in the first round – “his legs were deceiving him”.

He too gives Dubois a lot of credit, but believes Joshua hurt his opponent clearly in rounds four and five before getting “too greedy” and walking onto that finishing right hand.
