(PLO)- Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has set his sights on retiring to his native Portugal in a special mansion worth a whopping 21 million euros.
Located in Quinta da Marinha, in the city of Cascais, just 20km from Lisbon, the luxury villa was designed for the Portuguese star and his family. But due to the global pandemic, the war in Ukraine and inflation, the construction cost has increased from the original €12 million to €21 million, according to a source exclusively to LOOK.
Despite the significant increase in costs, the 37-year-old is said to be willing to pay whatever it takes to complete his post-retirement residence. Time is running out for Ronaldo to maintain his peak form.
Boasting a floor area of over 3,000 square metres, the meticulously designed home is set on an acre of urbanised land. It will include a spacious garage for over 20 cars, a luxurious indoor and outdoor swimming pool and a gym. The home also boasts a tennis court and a range of lavish rooms, and the mansion is considered quite the luxurious address for the Manchester United striker.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s retirement home is expected to be completed in the summer of 2023, although further delays are expected. He has had plenty of impressive custom homes, but this time the Portuguese striker has put the most effort into his mansion as he prepares for his final days away from professional football .
Ronaldo will personally oversee the construction of the home over time. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner regularly visits Portugal to ensure the quality of his retirement home. From the finest Italian marble to solid gold taps, smart heating systems to an exclusive Louis Vuitton mural, the home’s luxurious details are simply unmatched.
In addition, Ronaldo entrusted the decoration of the new villa to his wife, Georgina Rodriguez, and his trusted friend and decorator, Paula Brito. Both of them spent a lot of time decorating this magnificent palace-like house.

According to Marca, Ronaldo currently owns eight other homes around the world . Some of them include a three-bedroom apartment in Trump Tower in Mahnattan, the most expensive apartment in Lisbon worth 7 million euros and a seven-story apartment complex in Funchal, Madeira. He also owns a luxury mansion in Marbella, Spain.
After a trophyless season with Manchester United, Ronaldo has shone for his country in the UEFA Nations League group stage. He scored twice in Portugal’s 4-0 win over Switzerland earlier this month. However, Ronaldo’s national team lost the second leg 1-0 away to Switzerland in his absence.
