Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed the bright faces who can win the Ballon d’Or in the future.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s latest interview with Rio Ferdinand on his new YouTube channel has surprised many, as the Real Madrid legend talks about his former club, teammates and the current football situation in Europe.
The striker has particularly backed Kylian Mbappe to succeed at Real Madrid, while also praising him as a strong candidate for the Ballon d’Or award in the coming years.
What is particularly interesting, however, is that Ronaldo did not limit himself to just Los Blancos players when predicting potential candidates for football’s most prestigious individual award.
Ronaldo points out future Ballon d’Or candidates
In fact, Ronaldo has predicted that Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal has the potential to be a contender for the Ballon d’Or in the coming years. The 39-year-old legend said:
“Kylian Mbappé can win the Ballon d’Or in the future, maybe Haaland, Bellingham,” Ronaldo initially said.
But when Rio Ferdinand interjected by saying: “Add Vinicius Jr too” .
Ronaldo immediately replied: “And Lamine Yamal too.”

Ronaldo’s praise for Yamal is testament to the outstanding talent the player has achieved at the age of 17.
Yamal has truly emerged as a top star at Barcelona, not to mention his consistent performances in international tournaments for Spain have proven that, especially at Euro 2024.
Over time, fans can expect Yamal to further establish himself as one of the best players in the world.
Yamal has become the youngest player to be nominated for the Ballon d’Or this year, Ronaldo is certainly not the only one hoping he will win the award in the coming years.

However, for now Yamal must focus on his short-term goals at Barcelona while the club ensure the young striker does not get carried away too much by fame and injury.
Maintaining Yamal’s fitness and ensuring he stays injury-free could also be key targets for Barcelona, as they look to nurture the young Spaniard into one of the world’s best players.
