LeBron James defines his legacy: ‘I’m old as f**k in basketball terms’

Despite being one the greatest of all time at basketball, LeBron James wants to be remembered for more than the sport itself.

LeBron James is widely regarded as one of the best basketball players of all time. He wants to be remembered as more than that.

James was the guest on The Shop podcast, where he defined what he wanted his legacy to look like.

“From time to time, I do think about how I want to be remembered. And I hope that it’s not just the game of basketball,” the Los Angeles Lakers superstar said. “I feel like if it’s just the game of basketball that people talk about me, in a sense, I feel like I’ve failed my mission.”

“The things that I do in my community, the way myself and Savannah raise my kids, my relationship with my single parent mother, my friendship with my guys, being able to help people from my hometown. If those conversations don’t hit the barber shop, if those conversations don’t hit forums, or whatever the case might be, then I feel like my mission wasn’t completed,” James explained.

At 39 years old, James is currently the oldest player in the NBA, and he still has a two-year deal with the Lakers. In 2018, LeBron opened up an elementary school in his hometown of Akron, Ohio, called the ‘I Promise’ school. He’s also known for his philanthropic work with the LeBron James Family Foundation.

“And I’m not done. I’m old as f**k in basketball terms, but I’m super young in life,” Jmes laughed.
