Salah’s contract turmoil
Despite consistently being one of Liverpool’s best player since he signed for the Reds, Salah is now in the final year of his contract and an extension is by no means certain.
Arne Slot has refused to publicly comment on the contract situation of any of the players currently at Liverpool and some fans are worried that Salah’s time in Merseyside could be coming to an end.
From January, Salah will be able to freely enter contract discussions with any foreign club and Liverpool could end up losing their talisman on a free transfer at the end of this season.
How important is Salah at Liverpool?
Despite his age, Salah is still one of Liverpool’s key players and is expected to play a huge part in Arne Slot’s first season as Liverpool boss.
Salah was Liverpool’s highest scorer in the league last season, despite missing six Premier League games, and he is already off the mark this year.
Many people are still backing Salah to be one of the best players in the world this season and his incredible fitness routine, and dedication to remaining at his physical peak, will no doubt help him deliver.
If Salah can help Liverpool to another successful season then fans will be as eager as ever for him to sign a new contract but, despite recent positive signs, it is only really Mohamed Salah himself who knows whether he will remain at Anfield beyond this season.
