In a recent interview with Extra, actor Tom Holland announced that he will temporarily stop acting after participating in Apple TV+’s new psychological horror series “The Crowded Room”.
This decision was made after Tom Holland ‘s difficult and strenuous filming of the role of Danny Sullivan – a notorious criminal with 24 different personalities, in “The Crowded Room”.
“I’m no stranger to hard work. I’ve always lived by the ideal of working hard. I really enjoyed it, but then the film made me feel pressured and collapsed. There was a time when I really wanted to disappear from here, to go to Mexico to breathe the sea breeze and the fresh air. And now, I think that’s about to come true with the decision to take a year off from acting” – Tom Holland expressed.
Speaking to EW last month, Tom Holland said he appreciated his role in “The Crowded Room,” but admitted that the character pushed him beyond his limits. It led to “a little turmoil” in his personal life.
“I saw myself in that character as well as in my personal life. I remember being so frustrated and wanting to shave my head because I needed to get away from this character. But our movie was in the middle of filming so I had to put that thought aside” – Tom Holland said.
The actor shared more about his plans after finishing “The Crowded Room”, he will spend time with family, friends and also allow himself to rest and travel.
“The Crowded Room” is a film based on a true story about Danny Sullivan (played by Tom Holland) who was arrested after participating in a shooting in New York City in 1979.
