Liverpool predictions 2024/25: Premier League finish, top goalscorer and season preview

Liverpool’s 2024/25 season will be among the most intriguing in the entire Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp is gone, and into his shoes has stepped Arne Slot. The ex-Feyenoord boss has quite the job on his hands succeeding greatness at Anfield.

The Reds mounted a title charge last year only to fall away during the last couple of months of the campaign, and it would take an almighty effort to keep such pace with Arsenal and Manchester City again.

But could they still do it anyway?

Here’s 90min’s season preview of Liverpool’s 2024/25 campaign.

Liverpool’s performance in the last five seasons

The last five years of the Klopp era was when Liverpool rediscovered their mojo as a cup team, while they only finished outside the top three on one occasion.

Last season, the Reds went in search of a quadruple after winning the EFL Cup, but a sharp decline in form saw them fall short in their other three competitions.

That was, at least, a stark improvement on a miserable 2022/23 campaign in which they came fifth and were dumped out in the early stages of every cup.

Liverpool 2024/25 squad numbers

There haven’t been any major announcements to this point on Liverpool players changing shirt numbers for the new season, but you’d expect some of their younger stars to get upgrades.

Jarell Quansah (78) and Conor Bradley (84) seem primed to take lower numbers before the start of the campaign, while Trey Nyoni (98) is also a contender to come down following a fine pre-season.
