Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah considered by Bournemouth as Dominic Solanke replacement

Marseille could not agree a few with the Gunners

The Cherries are on the hunt for a new striker after Dominic Solanke joined Tottenham last week as part of a deal worth up to £65million.

Nketiah is one option that Bournemouth are looking at, but Porto striker Evanilson is another player on the club’s radar.

Arsenal are open to selling Nketiah this summer and they had been in talks with Marseille over a move.

Reports in France, however, state Marseille are now set to swoop for Lens forward Elye Wahi after failing to agree a fee with Arsenal for Nketiah.

The 25-year-old has previously caught the eye of Crystal Palace and it remains to be seen if they come forward towards the end of the current transfer window.

Bournemouth could represent an ideal move for Nketiah, who struggled for minutes at Arsenal last season. The striker has not started a competitive match for the Gunners since New Year’s Eve, when they lost at Fulham.

He still has three years to run on his current contract, which is thought to be worth around £100,000-a-week.

Nketiah is not the only forward who could leave Arsenal before the summer transfer window closes, with the club also open to selling Reiss Nelson. The winger has attracted interest from Leicester and West Ham.

Reiss Nelson’s Arsenal future is also in doubt

The future of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is also up in the air. He lost his place to David Raya as Arsenal’s No1 last season and wants first-team football.

Arsenal kick off their Premier League campaign against Wolves on Saturday and they will hope to be boosted by the return of Jurrien Timber to training this week.

The defender, who missed nearly all of last season with a serious knee injury, has been troubled by a foot problem for the past few weeks but Mikel Arteta said at the weekend he was progressing well.

“It’s fine. He’s been doing some individual work, that’s clear now,” Arteta said on Sunday. “So we expect him to be ready to train with the group in the next week, because he has no reaction. So quite positive.”
