It looks like Cardi B is getting into the beauty game.
The 28-year-old rap star’s company Washpoppin Inc. filed legal documents on Wednesday securing the rights to trademark the phrase ‘Bardi Beauty.’
According to TMZ, Cardi plans to use Bardi Beauty to market a slew of different products including makeup, fragrances, haircare, skincare and nail polish.
Cardi B has already successfully teamed up with clothing and footwear brands including Fashion Nova, Reebok and Steve Madden for exclusive collections.
In May 2019, the superstar’s collaboration with top online retail store Fashion Nova almost sold out on its first day, bringing in over $1 million in sales.
The rapper’s glamorous looks and unique style have made her a perennial red carpet favorite.
And the news does not come as a big surprise. Last month, Cardi announced on her Instagram page that she would be creating her own ethnic hair care line.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight in 2019, the Bodack Yellow singer said her beauty line would be coming ‘very’ soon and it was ‘something she wanted to do.’
Bardi Beauty will be joining a crowded field of celebrity-owned beauty brands, competing against industry titans including Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty and Lady Gaga’s Haus Laboratories.
But the WAP hitmaker seems more than up for the challenge.
The rap star recently said she thinks fame and success has made her feel more hungry.
