Australian actress Margot Robbie was one of the stars of Sunday night’s SAG Awards, with a glamorous makeup look that perfectly nailed the girl-next-door with a sultry edge.
And now, Margot’s makeup artist Pati Dubroff has shared some of the secrets behind the 29-year-old actress’s look – including the exact products she used to achieve Margot’s inimitable glow.
So how can you recreate the Bombshell star’s look?

Margot’s makeup artist Pati Dubroff shared how she created Margot’s SAG Awards look (pictured) by starting with her skin, and adding a natural blusher and multiple eyeshadows
First things first, Pati started with Margot’s skin – which she said is the be-all-and-end-all of a great makeup look.
To start with before the SAG Awards, Pati told Gritty Pretty she prepped Margot’s skin with La Solution 10 De Chanel Sensitive Skin Cream ($176) and the Hydra Beauty Flash Instantly Hydrating Perfecting Balm ($102).
Pati said these helped to create a ‘fresh, dewy base’ and ensured Margot’s skin was ready for makeup.
BUFF YOUR BASE
While Margot does have perfect peaches and cream skin, Pati said a little help never goes amiss.
‘To even the skin tone without creating the mask effect, I used the Ultra Le Teint Velvet Blurring Smooth-Effect Foundation ($78) and a touch of the Soleil Tan De Chanel ($69) for a muted contour that played up both Robbie’s features and the “putty” theme behind the look,’ she said.
On top of this, Pati added the Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick ($71) as well as Chanel’s LongWear Concealer ($60) and Le Correcteur De Chanel ($60), which helps to minimise any eye bags.
To create the perfect pout, Pati layered multiple lipsticks onto Margot (pictured at the SAG Awards), leaving the darker shade towards to outside to create an ombre effect
Pati added the Joues Contraste Powder Blush in 350 Rosewood ($75) to create a ‘happy cheek’ look.
Speaking about how blusher can lift an entire look to Who What Wear previously, Pati told Who What Wear: ‘Apply a creamy pink blush with your fingers on the apple of your cheeks straight after foundation, and let it sit.
‘Then, after the rest of the face is done, a light dusting of loose powder should go on top, followed by a powder blush – like a whisper – using a fan brush.’
Pati said the reason why she does this last is because it lets her know how much more product she needs to make the face and makeup look balanced.
Meanwhile, using both cream and powder blush allows for a more natural look.
Pati said she will typically apply white or ivory liner on the bottom lid of the eye to make the eyes pop, and a light pink shadow in the inner corners (pictured: Margot Robbie in May 2019)
FRAME THE EYES
Once she had Margot’s face sorted, Pati said she moved onto her eyes, where she opted for a palette of graphite greys and deep turquoise tones from Chanel.
Pati said she then added a swipe of Le Volume Revolution De Chanel Extreme Volume Mascara ($56) onto both the upper and lower lashline.
Previously, Pati has said that she likes to keep mascara minimal on her stars, as it helps the colours she’s used on the lids to pop and keeps the whole feel of Margot’s makeup look soft and glamorous.
While many makeup artists say their desert island beauty product is mascara, for Pati, a little mascara goes a long way – she never uses much on Margot (pictured in September 2019)
CONSIDER AN OMBRE LIP
Lastly, the celebrity makeup artist moved to Margot’s lips – which she painted in two ombre colours to ‘lift’ the look and make her lips look ‘seriously plump’.
Pati started with the Rouge Coco Flash Hydrating Vibrant Shine Lip Colour in 56 Moment ($53) and added a darker Rouge Allure Ink Matte Liquid Lip Colour in 178 Rosy Brown ($53) to the outer corners.
This helped to add depth to Margot’s look.
