Fans have blasted Al-Nassr on X after they suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Porto in Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence. The two sides faced each other in a pre-season friendly at the Estadio do Dragao on Sunday, July 28.

The Knights of Najd have struggled so far this summer without Cristiano Ronaldo – who is still on vacation with his family following Euro 2024. They are yet to win a friendly, having drawn 1-1 to Louletano DC and SC Farense, before losing 1-0 to Portimonense earlier this week.

Luis Castro fielded a strong starting XI to face Primeira Liga giants Porto, including Sadio Mane, Marcelo Brozovic, and Otavio. However, the hosts quickly broke the deadlock in the 18th minute via Nico Gonzalez’s header. Ivan Jaime then doubled their advantage three minutes later with a powerful strike.

Al-Nassr’s Otavio then lost possession to Gonzalez in the 31st minute who made no mistake to make it 3-0. Goncalo Borges netted a penalty in the fifth minute of stoppage time in the first half to give Porto a dominant lead. Al-Nassr were unable to mount a comeback in the second half, slumping to a 4-0 defeat.

Fans were furious with their performance with one urging Cristiano Ronaldo to leave the club this summer:

“Ronaldo please leave this team.”

“But u said u have to believe, believe in what mediocrity lol if u have to win titles it’s unacceptable what is happening currently in game,” one fan posted.

“They need to take out the whole squad,” one fan insisted.

“Our players have been so awful! We have a few weeks to fix things otherwise it’s going to be a very difficult season,” another added.

“Really there’s nothing happen from them. I don’t see any technical in their play,” one fan pointed out.

“Good luck to anyone watching Al Nassr next season. I will not be wasting time with this garbage if they can’t get funds to sign players,” another chimed in.

“They’re just kicking the ball around, no defending, no proper possession of the ball, no build up, no attacks, nothing. I’m surprised Porto didn’t score more than 4 goals,” another posted.

How did Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr fare in their 4-0 defeat to Porto?

Al-Nassr failed to grab a win in their fourth game running without Cristiano Ronaldo as they crashed to a 4-0 loss to Porto on Sunday. Let’s take a look at the stats to see how they performed.

Porto edged the Knights of Najd on possession with 51 percent of the ball while the latter had 49 percent. They also completed 395 out of 436 passes with an accuracy of 91 percent, whereas Al-Nassr completed 395 out of 443 with an accuracy of 89 percent.

Porto were also much more dominant in attack, creating three big chances, and landing 17 shots in total with seven being on target. On the other hand, Al-Nassr mustered eight shots in total with just three being on target.
