Zendaya’s mother made a move on her personal page, implicitly denying rumors related to the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” star couple.
On December 1 (US time), Page Six reported that Zendaya’s mother denied the engagement rumors between her daughter and Tom Holland. Through her personal page, Ms. Claire Stoermer talked about the meaning of the word “clickbait”, reminding fans to be careful with unverified information.
“At its core, clickbait is the exaggeration of statements or the omission of important information to increase traffic. The term is often used in a dismissive sense,” Zendaya’s mother wrote.
Buzzfeed claims that Claire Stoermer is implying that the engagement rumor between Zendaya and Tom Holland was created to attract fans’ attention.
Over the weekend, an account called Pop Hive shared that Tom Holland and Zendaya were secretly engaged. Immediately, thousands of netizens reposted this content.
Tom Holland and Zendaya have yet to comment.
Tom Holland and Zendaya fell in love in 2016 while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming. The actor once said that he and his girlfriend never wanted to make their relationship public.
“One of the downsides of being famous is that I can no longer control my privacy. A moment that I thought was just between the two of us is now shared with the whole world,” Tom Holland told CG , referring to a video of the couple kissing secretly in 2021.
“I’ve always been adamant about keeping my personal life private because I’ve shared so much of my life with the world. We almost feel like our privacy is being taken away,” Tom Holland said.
