Messi sets the greatest milestone in football history

Lionel Messi has now surpassed his former teammate Dani Alves with 45 career titles, thereby becoming the player with the most titles of all time.

With Argentina beating Colombia in the 2024 Copa America final, legend Lionel Messi became the most decorated player of all time, surpassing former teammate Dani Alves, who has lifted the trophy 45 times during his illustrious career.

Messi’s 45 trophies with club and country include a World Cup win, two Copa America titles, four Champions League titles and ten La Liga titles with Barcelona.

El Pulga has won 15 domestic titles for the Catalan club, as well as three UEFA Super Cups and three Club World Cups.

With PSG, he won the Ligue 1 title twice as well as the Trophee des Champions, before moving to Inter Miami, where he won the Leagues Cup. Messi has also won the 2005 U-17 World Cup, the 2008 Olympic Games and the UEFA Champions League with Argentina.

That list could still grow as Messi has the chance to win more trophies with Inter Miami and Argentina.

To celebrate Messi’s 45th career title, Inter Miami recently held a grand tribute to the 1987-born player, taking place before the team’s match with Chicago Fire on July 21.

Inter Miami used 45 young players, each representing a title won by the Argentine captain, all standing in the middle of the field. In the center was the phrase: “45 titles”.

Each title of the “atomic flea” was also projected onto the big screen in the stadium, along with a brilliant fireworks display.

Billionaire Jorge Mas, co-owner of Inter Miami, presented Messi with a collage of his title celebration moments, forming the number 45.

Tens of thousands of spectators at the stadium stood up and applauded enthusiastically to express their gratitude to the greatest player in football history.
