Legend Lionel Messi cannot live without ‘guardian angel’ Emi Martinez

Emiliano Martinez, the goalkeeper, saves the day not just for Argentina but also for Messi, keeping the number 10 from turning into the team’s antagonist.

The stands at NRG Stadium erupted in celebration of Argentina’s stunning triumph following a shot by Nicholas Otamendi. Lionel Messi celebrated in a more composed manner than normal.

Being the lone Albiceleste player to miss a penalty almost made him the sinner. No. 10 had to thank Argentina’s hero Emiliano Martinez once more for stopping two penalties from Ecuador.

Probably throughout his ten years of career highs and lows, Emiliano Martinez is the only person who has developed a unique bond with Messi, particularly in the Argentina national team. The goalie, who was born in 1992, has already assisted Messi in guiding Argentina through the gates of death.

Emiliano Martinez performed admirably in his first competition with Argentina at the 2021 Copa America, which was Messi’s first championship with the national team. He prevented three penalties from Colombia, which advanced the national team to the title game.
