A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has begun work towards convincing Liverpool standout Trent Alexander-Arnold to join him at the club.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has on Thursday provided a fresh insight into the situation.
The name of defender Alexander-Arnold has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in Spain’s capital this week.
As much comes amid fresh claims of interest on the part of Real Madrid in luring the England international to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Amid an ongoing search for a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal, TAA, it would appear, is considered the ideal profile.
As per Fabrizio Romano, speaking on ‘Playback‘ late on Thursday, the Spanish champions have been keeping a close eye on Alexander-Arnold’s situation at Liverpool since back in March.
This comes with Florentino Pérez and co, in the knowledge that his contract is due to expire in 12 months’ time, holding the 25-year-old in high regard.
And ready to do his part in convincing Alexander-Arnold of the merits of a move to La Liga is fellow countryman Jude Bellingham.
Midfielder Bellingham is known to boast a close bond with Liverpool’s star full-back, no doubt eager to link up with him at club level next season.
The youngster has therefore long been ‘speaking highly’ of life in Madrid with Alexander-Arnold.
It now remains to be seen whether as much proves enough to lure the defender away from his home club and city…
