At the 2024 NBA All-Star, LeBron James officially set two records: Becoming the player who played in the most All-Star games (20 times), as well as the player who was in the starting lineup 20 consecutive times.

However, the number that really matters to LeBron James is 21, as he has spent 21 years playing in the NBA. That is an extremely impressive statistic, because few people can maintain such incredible durability at the age of 39.

So LeBron James chose a very special way to celebrate, through the shoes he wore in the 2024 All-Star Game.

Information about the shoes LeBron James will use at NBA All-Star 2024

At the 2024 NBA All-Star Game, LeBron James wore the LeBron 21 Air DT Max.

The inspiration for this shoe comes from Deion Sanders, an American football legend who famously wore the number 21 during his time in the NFL. Therefore, LeBron James wanted to pay tribute to this legend in his 21st season.

LeBron James’ shoes are similar in design to Sanders’ Air DT Max ’96, a classic from the 1990s that Sanders wore frequently during his peak years. The shoe was revived as a popular version in 1996 and is still used today.

After retiring, Deion Sanders also had success in his coaching career and he himself helped the Air DT Max ’96 gain more attention from fans. LeBron James decided to use this design on the LeBron 21 basketball shoe to compete in the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.
