According to statistics from Whoop, Cristiano Ronaldo’s heart rate had a big difference from the final whistle after 120 minutes until Portugal won the penalty shootout against Slovenia.

After the final whistle, CR7’s heart rate exceeded 170 bpm (beats per minute) and then gradually decreased. By the time the Portuguese captain took his first penalty kick, his heart rate had returned to normal.

The heart rate of a normal healthy person usually ranges from 60 to 90 beats per minute (60 – 90 bpm). When the body is physically active or nervous, the heart rate will increase above 100 bpm, in some cases it can reach 150 – 200 bpm.

During penalty shootouts, nervousness and anxiety can cause players’ heart rates to spike. But with his extensive experience, Ronaldo was almost unaffected. He stepped up and took the crucial penalty kick with the utmost composure.

After completing the task, Ronaldo began to worry. At the moment Portugal successfully executed the third kick to seal a 3-0 victory over Slovenia, CR7’s heart rate exceeded 170 bpm, equal to the time when he had just worked at high intensity during the match.

Ronaldo just had an unforgettable day. He missed a penalty in extra time, forcing Portugal into a penalty shootout. Diogo Costa shined with three consecutive saves to help “Seleccao” win a ticket to the quarter-finals against France.
