6 players from Arsenal’s first team accompanied coach Mikel Arteta to Marbella to participate in a small pre-season training camp.
The Gunners missed out on the Premier League title last season, they were only 2 points behind top team Man City. Last season, the London team was also 5 points behind the Green Man. To hope to win the Premier League next season, Arsenal wants to prepare as thoroughly as possible.
Arteta and Arsenal have had a difficult start to the new season with matches against Aston Villa, Manchester City and Tottenham in the first six weeks. According to CBS, a few Arsenal players who did not participate in major tournaments flew to Spain for physical training.
Jurrien Timber focused on returning to Arsenal very early
Jurrien Timber, who suffered a knee ligament injury and missed most of last season, is among them, trying to impress his coach. Ben White, who caused controversy when he did not join the England team at Euro 2024, is also among the returning players.
Fabio Vieira, a player rumored to be able to leave Arsenal, is also among those going to Spain to train.
Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah have also returned to Arsenal. They are hoping to impress and continue to play at Emirates Stadium next season. All three stars mentioned above are rumored to be sold this summer.
Smith Rowe has been wanted by Aston Villa in the past, with Unai Emery still keen on him. Meanwhile, Nketiah is said to have four clubs chasing his services. Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is set to return to club training.
The Gunners take on Manchester United at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium on July 28 before meeting Liverpool in Philadelphia three days later.
