Liverpool finalized the price to sell Luis Diaz to Barca

Liverpool reduced their asking price from the sale of Luis Diaz when Barcelona showed their determination to get the Colombian star.

Liverpool are said to be ready to part ways with Luis Diaz in the summer and have now decided to reduce their asking price for the Colombian player amid strong interest from Barcelona.

According to Diario AS, The Kop’s board of directors has approved the decision to reduce the selling price of the Colombian player to 75 million Euros (63.8 million pounds), a fee that Barcelona can “try” to meet, but not As for the “sky-high” price of more than 120 million Euros previously announced by the Anfield team, the fee is almost impossible to activate due to Barca’s economic problems.

Also according to Diario AS, the Catalan team will need to eliminate a few more members if they want to be as active as desired in the 2024 summer transfer window, meaning the deal for Diaz will at least have to wait.

Joining Liverpool in the winter of 2022, Diaz has gone through different “hot and cold” periods under Jurgen Klopp. The 27-year-old winger was one of Liverpool’s best performers in the German strategist’s final season at Anfield.

However, according to experts, Diaz will no longer have a place at Anfield under new coach Arne Slot and Liverpool’s new board of directors fully trusts the Dutch strategist’s decision.

Diaz’s future will only be decided after the 2024 Copa America ends, when the 27-year-old star will perform his national duty with the Colombian national team.

Besides, the Spanish press confirmed that Diaz is not the only winger in Barcelona’s sights, the Camp Nou team has also contacted Nico Williams of Athletic Club for a potential deal. However, there is information that sporting director Deco rates Diaz higher than the Basque winger and the Blaugrana are determined to continue recruiting the Liverpool star to the end.
