It’s enough to make a lover or collector of classic cars stop dead in their tracks and gasp in horror.
So let’s hope whoever decided to have Selena Gomez dance on top of an old convertible made sure she was light on her feet – or they had a good mechanic to hand.
The actress and pop star decided to pose and have a dance around on the bonnet of an old white soft-top car as she filmed scenes for an advert for her new clothing line.

Selena, 19, was snapped in the studio filming the campaign for the autumn collection of her Dream Out Loud range which is sold in Kmart across America.
And she looked like she was having a great dance as she danced away and then sat and posed in a short lacy and sparkly black skirt, black boots, red socks, denim waistcoat and white vest.
With a screen projecting a moving image of a beach, Selena throws her arms in the air as she danced around before stopping to quench her thirst.

She is then seen in a different outfit of black leggings, a stripey vest and slouchy grey top as she actually gets in the car and pretends to drive across the American desert before getting out, grabbing a suitcase and making off on foot.
Selena launched Dream Out Loud in 2010 and the line consists of dresses, tops, jeans, skirts and shorts, all designed in a bohemian style and are all made from recycled or eco-friendly materials.
When she launched it, she said: ‘With my line, I really want to give the customer options on how they can put their own looks together. I want the pieces that can be easy to dress up or down, and the fabrics being eco-friendly and organic is super important.

‘The tags will all have some of my inspirational quotes on them. I’m just looking to send a good message.’
But it doesn’t stop there for Selena, who is dating Justin Bieber, as she also launched her first ever perfume, a self-titled fragrance, in New York this week.
And she also revealed that she wants to team up with country star Taylor Swift on a collaboration for her next album.

Speaking at her perfume launch in Macy’s in New York, she said: ‘I want to go for producers that probably wouldn’t want me to do their songs. I just want to knock on their door.
‘I want to work with just different styles of music.So I just want to do different things for this album.’
