When it comes to style, Cardi B always keeps us guessing. Not afraid of risks or innovation, the rapper has worn a number of bold looks. Her latest is a maximalist take on the hair bow trend.
While attending a concert last night, May 30, Cardi B recorded and posted a couple of videos of herself enjoying the show. As she sang along, she also showed a glimpse of her adorable hairstyle. From top to bottom, she adorned her long, straight hair with a bunch of mini ribbon bows.
Later, she posted a clip of herself dancing to her new track “Wanna Be (Remix)” with GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion, giving us a full view of the look. The bows were scattered all over her super long, straight hair that almost reached all the way down to her calves. And as it turns out, she color-coordinated the coquette hair accessories with a schoolgirl-inspired outfit.
The baby blue and white bows matched her pinstriped button-up top. She layered a distressed yellow knit vest over the shirt. Her gray pleated skirt was similarly layered with a white skirt underneath. To finish the look, she wore a pair of argyle blue socks and patent black platform pumps. It was a schoolgirl chic ‘fit with a trendy update in true Cardi B fashion.
According to Pinterest’s predictions in 2023, bow stacking was set to be one of the biggest trends of 2024. It looks like Cardi B and other celebrities are proving it to be true!
She’s not the only celebrity that has been loving the coquette-inspired bow trend. During the Challengers press tour in April, Zendaya also wore a bow in her hair for her coquette tenniscore look. Her Euphoria co-star Sydney Sweeney even gave the trend the Met Gala treatment in 2023. Thanks to Cardi B, it looks like this hair trend will continue to take over 2024.
