Director Brad Peyton had a successful collaboration with The Rock in the movie San Andreas in 2015. In Rampage, The Rock plays Davis Okoye, a biologist specializing in primate research at the zoo in Chicago, Illinois. . His best friend is a white-furred gorilla named George. The relationship between the duo faces a real test when George and many other animals mutate after an experiment, becoming huge, aggressive super beasts that destroy the city. Davis must race to find an antidote while also protecting George from being killed. The friendship between George and Davis Okoye creates emotional scenes.
