Ronaldo was suspected of… painting his toenails, fans wondered why

Ronaldo painted his toenails black

Recently, Ronaldo often shares photos on social networks during his rest time. Surprisingly, eagle-eyed fans discovered a special feature appearing in the photo that the Portuguese striker shared in the sauna when he recovered after a trip with Al-Nassr Club.

A typical example is the image showing off his slender physique when he sat with his arms crossed, looking thoughtful, shared on Instagram. But fans noticed something unusual in that Ronaldo’s toenails were painted black. One fan commented on Ronaldo’s post: “Did I miss something or did everyone miss it? Ronaldo paint your toenails?

There’s a good reason why Ronaldo does this and it’s also the reason why many top athletes such as MMA fighters also paint their nails. According to a source from German magazine Bild, athletes paint their nails or cover them with a protective layer to prevent fungus and bacteria.

They shared: “Many top athletes do this to protect their nails from fungus and bacteria when they are stuck in sweaty shoes for hours. Even Mike Tyson.”

This is not the first time Ronaldo painted his toenails black

This is not the first time people have photographed Ronaldo with black painted toenails. Back in January, MMA fighter Francis Ngannou posted a photo with Ronaldo, the two hugging and laughing and the Portuguese star’s painted toenails could be seen. Fighters like former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski will do the same when entering competition.

It is a sign of a player always looking to go the extra mile to prove he is one of the best of all time. Ronaldo has won five Golden Ball titles and has scored 11 goals in 12 matches since joining Saudi Arabian team Al-Nassr after leaving MU.

But things haven’t gone well for Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League, and he recently failed to score in a clash with Al Feiha. After the match, Ronaldo was angry and rushed off the field scolding the opposing players that they ‘didn’t want to play football’.

Spanish newspaper Marca claims that Ronaldo feels former Al-Nassr coach Rudy Garcia can get more out of his teammates. The club confirmed on Thursday that manager Garcia will leave the club ‘by mutual agreement’ and their U19 coach Dinko Jelicic will take over as head coach. Al-Nassr is currently ranked second in the rankings and will host Al Hilal on Tuesday.
