The 29-year-old Complicated singer put on a brave face as she posed all by herself on the red carpet, hand on hip and her tousled blonde hair pushed over one shoulder.

There was no sign of her new husband Chad Kroeger but the singer was saved from solitude by a gaggle of girlfriends who whooped and hollered as she cut a specially made cake.
Known for her edgy punk style, Avril’s clingy, strapless dress continued the trend with its glittery dark purple material as well as the gaudy purple-black nail polish on her short nails.
Avril added a pair of neutral-hued stilettos to the mix while a diamond necklace at her throat lent a another touch of delicacy.
She took every opportunity to flash the giant diamond wedding ring on her left hand.

Earlier in the day, Avril dropped by Good Morning America to promote her new album, this time outfitted in a bizarrely patterned, off-the-shoulder frock.
Avril’s dress pattern featured a nauseating blend of stars, hearts, flowers, fish and geese.
She stood up and sang the first single off her album, Let Me Go, which she recorded as a duet with her husband Chad Kroeger, with her band but no Chad.

Avril fell for the fellow Canadian rocker – and frontman for the band Nickelback – last year when they collaborated on her new album.
They became engaged in August 2012 after a month of dating, and wed on July 1 of this year.

‘We don’t go more than two weeks without seeing each other,’ Avril recently boasted in a couple’s interview with People.
‘And we don’t drink when we’re apart,’ Chad revealed. ‘We don’t want to go anywhere that you’re asking for trouble. This is something we want to cherish and protect.’
‘It sucks!’ Avril added. ‘But when you’ve got something special, you can’t be careless with it.’
