Liverpool returned to winning ways with a score of 4-2 against Tottenham. Jurgen Klopp’s team completely dominated Spurs for 60 minutes, with Mohamed Salah scoring in the first half to open the scoring. Andy Robertson doubled Liverpool’s lead after halftime.
Cody Gakpo’s headed effort was followed by Harvey Elliott’s strike and Liverpool led 4-0 after an hour.
Ange Postecoglou decided to start James Maddison, Richarlison and Oliver Skipp. These changes certainly helped Spurs get back into the game, while Klopp’s changes led to a difficult 30 minutes for Liverpool.
Stefan Bajcetic replaced Wataru Endo, who played excellently in the midfield position. His performance in the first half earned Dion Dublin praise, saying that the Japanese midfielder was the key to Liverpool’s success in this match.
“Endo was absolutely brilliant, he let Mac Allister and Elliott do what they wanted to do, Endo was very disciplined and commanded the midfield. And that was the difference for me, leaving five or six Strikers do what they have to do while remaining in good shape when they lose the ball.”
