Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly purchased a mega-mansion on ‘Billionaires Island’ in Dubai.

The Al-Nassr superstar – who boast an incredible property portfolio across multiple countries – enjoyed a brilliant 2023 where he was the top scorer in the world.

Ronaldo – who earns £175m-a-year with the Saudi club – will be honoured for this achievement at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, a city where he now has a new residence.

According to Bloomberg, the Portuguese superstar has bought a mansion on Jumeirah Bay Island, which is better known as ‘Billionaires Island’, a secluded Dubai enclave that is home to the super rich.

The report claims Ronaldo will receive the mega-mansion at some point in 2024 and while specifications are not known, it is rumoured to cost in the region of tens of millions of euros.

For context, a separate mansion for sale on Billionaires Island – which only opened in 2017 – is measured at 30,000 square metres, has six bedrooms, private access to the beach, a showroom for seven cars, a spa, a swimming pool with a view of downtown Dubai and accommodation for employees on site.

It is known as Billionaires Island because the number of billionaires who live there per square km reportedly surpasses any other location in the UAE, with Bloomberg also reporting how the island is home to wealthy Saudis, Israelis, Indians and Russians.

A developer reportedly began to scoop up parts of the land on the secluded, seahorse-shaped Jumeirah Bay Island during the early stages of the pandemic.

After several years of construction, 10-mega mansions have been built, with the Dubai-based developer, Palace Luxury Living, revealing the villas were expected to be sold for $545m (£430m) in total, averaging out at £43m per property.

The island – which boasts many other properties – is also part of a gated community and includes several fine-dining restaurants, a yacht club and beach resort, while it directly faces the open sea and famous Burj Khalifa building.

Furthermore, some wealthy individuals who don’t own properties on the island still use it as a base by staying in the aforementioned luxury resort during their visits to the city.

Rodriguez and Ronaldo are expected to spend some time on the luxurious Billionaire’s Island

The developers also say that each villa is between 20,000 to 45,000 square feet, and valued at a price of at least $27million (£21.3m).

Ronaldo would be expected to spend time there with his partner Georgina Rodriguez and his five children, with a flight from Riyadh, where he is based in Saudi Arabia, taking just two hours.

A report in the Times recently explained how several stars in the Saudi Pro League also live in gigantic villas, which could be as large as 30,000 square feet, or in luxury hotels, with Ronaldo and Rodriguez originally basing themselves in the five-star Four Seasons hotel in Riyadh.
