WhoScored named their Premier League Team of the Month for August at the start of the new month, with three Arsenal players earning a spot in the side.

First up was David Raya, with a rating of 7.61. Ben McAleer highlighted Raya’s two clean sheets and nine saves in what was a very impressive few weeks for the Spaniard.

Even without the statistics, Raya made pivotal stops at crucial times in all three matches to ensure the Gunners earned all three points against Wolves and Aston Villa and at least left with something against Brighton.

William Saliba also made the team with a rating of 7.31, with no one making more tackles than his 14 in August.

Finally, Bukayo Saka made the side as well, with McAleer highlighting the winger’s three assists and a goal in three August fixtures.

Saka provided an assist in each of the three matches he played, adding a goal against Wolves, so he was good value for his 8.02 rating.

Kai Havertz can perhaps feel a little hard-done-by to miss out, having provided three goal contributions in three games. He had a great month as well.

But it was certainly hard to argue with Erling Haaland and his seven goals, and the WhoScored ratings favoured Heung-min Son and his two goal contributions over the Gunners striker’s three.
