CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Two former high school stars from the Charlotte Metro area are headed to the Super Bowl as the Philadelphia Eagles took down the Washington Commanders 55-23 in the NFC Championship game.
Former Mallard Creek star and Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis and Weddington star and Eagles running back Will Shipley will be playing in the Super Bowl in New Orleans on Feb. 9.
Davis a former star at Georgia had two total tackles a sack, tackle-for-loss, and pass deflection in the win over the Commanders.
This will be the second time Davis has played in the Super Bowl.
The former Clemson Tiger, Shipley finished with four carries for 77 yards and a touchdown.
The Eagles are headed to their second Super Bowl in the last three years. They lost Super Bowl LVII to the Kansas City Chiefs 38-35.
Davis started all 17 games for the Eagles in the regular season and finished with a sack, 27 total tackles, and three tackles-for-loss.
Shipley started one game for the Eagles during the regular season with and finished with 30 carries for 82 yards and four catches for 35 yards.
